SE MO / St. Louis trip cont.

The second half of the trip we spent in St. Louis. We go every year and spend the 4th there because St. Louis has such a fun celebration usually. We are also always there to celebrate my Uncle Jerry's birthday but sadly he passed away in April so it was a bittersweet trip. Also, the flooding put a damper on all the activities that are usually on the river. It was so weird to see the water so high by the arch :( But we still had a great time. We did the zoo, six flags and two cardinals games. The first game (against the Mets) we had awesome tickets - they were in the cardinals club so it was free drinks and fantastic food all night. Unfortunately we lost that game :( But the next game my parents, Tom and Tommy (I didn't get to make this game) had seats 5 rows back from the front next to the cardinals dugout. They had a fantastic time, even though they weren't able to get any autographs, and the Cardinals won that game in the bottom of the 9th with a homerun! At least Tommy was able to see 1 winner :)
View from our room - the same room we stayed in last year! And my parents :)

Little Cardinal fans! Notice Tommy's "I'm so cool look?" Where is this coming from??? lol
At the zoo

The only family shot we got and then our littlest Cardinal fan - isn't he precious? Well, I think so and apparently so does some woman who drank too much at the game - she asked Tom that since he made such beautiful children if he would make one with her. Thank goodness I wasn't anywhere near. Although, while I do agree with her, I might have still needed to tell her what she could do with her question!

Waiting for the fireworks

My pictures don't do the fireworks show justice - the kids had a great time and so did we :)
The Cardinals vs. Cubs game. The catcher is Jason LaRue, a guy Tom went to high school with. This was the only time he came out during the game so Tom wasn't able to try to get his attention, and the security guards weren't allowed to go get him after the game. But Tom tried!
Albert Pujols up close and the team on the field after their win!

My handsome little man at the game

The Arch and the riverfront at the Arch - those flags should NOT be under that much water! That's actually where the festivities for the 4th usually are - those flags are on the walkway where all the stands and attractions are :(

On a horse and carriage ride through St. Louis, and the kids on our last day :)
