My Husband Rocks Friday

My husband rocks!!
If you're interested in where this idea comes from you can visit the website at http://honestandlasting.blogspot.com/
This week I am going to tell you all what a fantastic dad my husband is. He seriously rocks where the kids are concerned. First and formost he is the fun dad! He is always willing to embarrass himself if it makes the kids laugh, and what kid doesn't love to see their parents in a silly situation? It helps that he is as big a kid as they are but whatever the reason, I'm SO thankful for it because I'm much more reserved in the "fun" area. Daddy is ALWAYS good for a tickle fest, a chase around the house (with being caught resulting in tons of hugs and laughs for whoever is running from him), or bedtime piggyback rides (some nights with all THREE kids piled on!). These kids don't have a clue as to how lucky they are that their dad is willing to have so fun with them!

He is also one of the most loving and affectionate dads I know. He loves his children with all his heart and would do anything to make them happy. I don't have a ton of pictures of Tom and Tommy from when Tommy was a tiny baby scanned but I thought this one of them at the beach was perfect of our biggest little baby. Tom is the daddy who, from the start, was completely hands on in the parenting department. Tommy didn't want to nurse at all. And I had NO idea how to prepare a bottle but my husband did! He went right to work boiling the bottle and nipple to sterilize it, then made the bottle. He was up with Tommy and I, taking turns being up all night long during the first 4 or 5 days that Tommy didn't sleep from 11pm to 4am. He has never taken it for granted that mom will do all the work and he jumps right in to help out. And when I was having a hard time nursing Avery he was there with constant encouragement. After we had our third he always made sure to take Tommy and Avery out together so I could have one on one time with Cole. While I may act stressed about life in general with the kids you hardly ever see him like that. He just takes it all in stride and loves every minute he can with them. And my youngest thinks his daddy hung the moon - he is a total daddy's boy, which Tom eats up! And he deserves it after being such an awesome daddy for the last 8 years.

The other day we were watching Cole run around being crazy and Tom said to me "watching him get so big makes me want to have another one." If you know me at all you know how difficult it is for me to be done after 3, so to hear him say that I melt because I know if we had one more he would be just as fantastic a father to 4 as he is to 3. I feel so blessed that God brought us together because he is exactly who I imagined being the father of my children!

Oh, you're making me tear up reading about the father your hubby is to your children. My hubby has been amazing with our first son, whom we adopted as a toddler. And now we're expecting our first by birth any day now...it'll be a joy to watch him as we adjust to life with an infant.
