Silly things

Avery said something that I thought was VERY cute today, and just so Avery.

To better explain what the depth of the comment you have to understand that Avery still sneaks into my bed at night about six times a week.

Yes - SIX times a week. It's miserable. It's exhausting.

I just don't have the heart to keep out my little cuddlebug :( She's been like this since birth so I know it's just a completely innate thing in her to want to be close and while it causes me to be a very tired mama some days, I just don't like hurting her feelings.

She'll outgrow it soon enough...believe me, I know. I've BTDT with my ten year old!

So anyway, Avery spent the night with my mom last night.

When she came home I thought I would share with her how nice it was to sleep all by myself without her touching me all night.

Here is our conversation:

Me: Guess what Avery?
Ave: What?
Me: Mommy slept SOOO good last night! It was the best nights sleep I've had a in a long time. Do you know why that is?
Ave: Because I wasn't here to get into your bed?
Me: YES! I didn't have a little girl climbing into my bed and waking me up.
Ave: Well, that IS why I spent the night at Grands last night. So you could have a good nights sleep. (and this was said with the custest, most serious face my four year old could muster!)

I burst out laughing at her obvious attempt to claim my restful sleep as a gift from her. She's a total goof.

Then two minutes later Cole decides to jump off our couch onto our living room table.

All you heard was a very loud thump caused from his knees hitting the wood.

Seriously? What the heck was he thinking?

I'm pretty sure he was wondering the same thing because he said "ouch" and "I not do that anymore!"

:)

Man, her & Mason are one in the same. We have the same struggles of keeping him out of our room each night. He mostly ends up back in our bed, sometime early in the morning hogging the covers and taking over my side! It is quite exhausting, I don't have the heart to tell him no and mean it. He needs more hugs & cuddles then most, he's always been that way. It's who he is.

Good to see you blogging again!
