Swimming

So Avery has been begging for swim lessons for the longest time now and while I called once to inquire about them, I never got the information I was looking for, so put them off.

But I'm glad I didn't worry about it because my little fish has figured out swimming all on her own :)

We went to the pool today and saw a friend there with her little girl who is swimming. I asked if she had swimming lessons and she hadn't. Avery happened to be standing there listening and I guess she decided that she didn't need lessons either.

Soooo....my little girl, who before today would hold you with a death grip if her floaties were off, said "mom, let me swim to you."

Which I thought was a total farce and wouldn't happen in a million years. lol

But I should have known better. If Avery puts her mind to something and says she's going to do it, she's going to do it.

The first time I let her go she swam with zero issue.

By the end of the day she was swimming all over the pool, completely underwater and coming up for breaths when she needed them, all by herself.

I am so proud of her :)

We were taking a ride on my parents golf cart tonight and out of the blue she said "mom, next time we go to the pool I don't want you to bring anything with us because I'm a swimmer now.

What a big girl!
