Mommy's helper

Last night as I was getting ready for a night out with the girls, the most amazing thing happened.

Avery, my four year old, completely dressed my 2 year old. Pajamas AND diaper.

Yes, you read that right...diaper, too. Here is the how everything unfolded:

I gave both the kiddos a bath. After Avery got out, she helped her little bro get out (with my help), and then proceeded to dry him off with a towel. Hair and everything. So cute :)

I hopped in the shower as the two little ones ran off. I knew Avery would go get dressed but since I would only be a few minutes, I knew Cole could wait. He's our little nature boy...he loves being naked!

So I'm at the end of my shower and I hear screaming and crying coming from two different little bodies. And then those two little bodies appeared in my bathroom.

One had pajama shorts on, and a shirt halfway on, halfway off. The neck was stuck under his armpit while the other arm was just fine.

But that little man wanted NO part of Avery helping him with the other arm. And she was not happy about it.

Of course she wanted to finish what she started.

So I am stuck in the shower and here is Avery chasing Cole, crying that she needs to finish. Cole screaming NOOOOOOO and slapping her with his good arm every time she comes near. Meanwhile I'm yelling at them to just stop for two minutes so I can dry off and help.

But a few seconds later they disappear and come back in less than a minute all smiles with Cole completely dressed. Whew!

A little bit later I tell Cole to go lay down so I can put a diaper on him since it's bedtime and Avery tells me "but mommy, I put it on. See?"

Sure enough - there is a diaper on his rear. Sagging a bit, but on. H-O-L-Y-C-O-W.

My little girl is amazing.

Does this mean I could leave the kids home by themselves now - Tommy can cook pop tarts in the microwave and Avery can dress Cole. What else do they need??? lol
