The 33 year old, preschooler, kindergartener & fifth grader

August was such a monumentous month for us.

Not only did my old fart husband turn 33 (hahaha...he hates aging...he's worse than a girl! lol), but my littlest baby started preschool, my middle child started kindergarten and my big boy started fifth grade.

Talk about everything hitting you at once!

It always blows me away when I think about how fast our lives are moving and changing. It doesn't seem possible that I am 33. It doesn't seem possible that I have an 11 year old. It doesn't seem possible that the little girl it took us forever to have started kindergarten. And my wild man is in preschool???

Where is my youth going???

Although, it is nice to have a few hours a week to myself, it's also very strange. It feels empty sometimes. I always thought I'd have another little one by now but since that hasn't happened...yet...I get to spend way more time at the kids school than I ever thought I'd have time possible for!

And let me say that while my 5 year old LOVES it, my 11 year old acts like he doesn't know me.

Even when half the 5th grade is yelling "Hi Mrs. Grieve!!" or excited to see little man "Hey Cole...come give me a hug!", Tommy is quite good at ducking his head and running.

See, I made the mistake one time of giving him a kiss in front of his new friends.

Never give your fifth grade son a kiss at school with his permission first. N-E-V-E-R.

He was mortified. Horrified, actually. I still laugh about it but he doesn't. Although, he did pull me aside later and ask me very nicely to not do it again. lol
