Avery has become quite the little question asker as of lately.
She wants to know what everything is, what is does, and why it does that.
Her new interest?
Boobs. Mine, in particular.
For those of you who know us do know that she's always had a sort of attachment (fascination?) with wanting to "touch" them when she's upset. In her defense, I did nurse her a little longer than I wanted to because she would just not wean, then her brother was born and nursing him caused a little jealousy.
So she liked touching them for comfort. WhatEVA. I'm ok with it.
Now she wants them. For herself. So she can wear a...
:::choking on the word:::
BRA
She sees me put one on and always asks me what it is. I usually get away with saying it's my underwear. Well, a few weeks ago that answer didn't appease her because she knows what the bra covers and Avery knows she doesn't have what it covers (ok, ok, holds up, whatever@@).
So she said to me "I want to wear a bra." I told her that one day she would wear one but right now she didn't need one. So she said "I do need one."
Ugh. "No, you don't." But we all know what it's like to reason with a three year old who has her mind set on something. So I won't bore you all with the particulars of our "argument."
So today at Target we were shopping for a birthday gift for her friend's birthday party. We had to pass the bras to get to the toys and this was our conversation:
Avery: I want a bra.
Me: I've told you, Avery, you don't need one.
Avery: Well, when I get older and I grow boobs I'm going wear one!
Me: yes, you will have to wear one then.
Avery: And I'll have big boobs like you, mom.
And don't you know that this conversation was not quiet by any means???
Why can't she talk about dump trucks like her brothers did/do???
Gotta love this age :)

LMAO!! That is too cute!!
So funny. I'm going thru the same thing with Meg. She always wants to wear camis under everything because they have a "bra" in them.
My four year old loves my boobs too!
Out of the blue, she will run up to me and just grab one of them and start laughing. Very odd...
Karly talks about them too. Although mine aren't much to talk about. HAHA!! And she calls it a brob. Not a bra. No matter how many times I tell her the right way to say it. :/
Your blog is HILARIOUS! Love.it.
