I think my daughter has become obsessed with the princess dresses - wait, I KNOW she has. She wants to wear them all day and even some nights. She bugs me all the time to let her wear them to the store, and even against my better judgment I'm starting to wonder if it's really a battle I want to fight. When she knows that someone is coming over she runs upstairs to change into one of her dresses. Her favorite is this ugly pink leotard looking thing that has a chiffon bottom. I think the reason I couldn't stand it so much is because it was a bratz dress and I do NOT care for Bratz dolls...however, it was given to her by a sweet little girl who loves Avery so therefore the dress didn't make it into the trash. I will post pictures of Avery in it another time because I actually don't think I have a picture of her in this dress. Probably because in my mind at this moment I do not want a picture of that dress. BUT there will come a day when I can't remember what it looked like and I will want to see Avery wearing the dress that I know I will remember talking about! Funny how that works. Anyway, this post has a special picture to go alongside it. It's Avery taking a nap with one of her dresses on...something that has become a ritual. She will actually change dresses up to 3 times while she is up there trying to go to sleep, even though she knows no one but mommy is going to see her in it! Then, of course, on the days daddy does not pick Tommy up, Avery has to wear one of her dresses to the school. And depending on her mood it may or may not be the dress she just napped in. She's a riot with those dresses and since I was not the girly girl kinda toddler I'm not understanding her mindframe. Does she really feel like a princess? Or is it all just for fun? She gets this very serious look on her face when you compliment one of her outfits, which leads me to believe she really feels like Cinderella or Snow White, etc. when she's in them. Anyway, here is a picture from her nap today. Notice that she also has to wear the shoes while she sleeps? She LOVES LOVES shoes but that is a WHOLE other post!

And I have to add in a little conversation we have almost daily now...since we're on the subject of princesses and all :)
Avery - I want to see Cinderella.
Me - you want to watch the movie?
Avery - no, I go see Cinderella
Me- You want to see Cinderella? In person?
Avery - (with HUGE eyes) YES! I go see Cinderella and give her hugs & kisses.
Me - awww...that is very sweet. We'll go see very soon.
Avery - NOW? I go to Cinderella's house?? I go to Cinderella's house and play with her?

I just read a few entries from your blog. Your Avery is just like Ava.. Too bad you don't live in Texas they would have a blast together. She also takes her dresses very seriously. Michelle
